Kind, practical, one-to-one training, enrichment, welfare guidance and suitable low-risk behaviour support for companion animals and their people in Sutton Coldfield and nearby areas.

About

Meet Dawn

I’m Dawn, founder of Sutton Pet Support. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from the University of Lincoln.

My background includes animal learning, behavioural observation, welfare assessment, enrichment and evidence-informed approaches to training and behaviour support.

I provide reward-based, welfare-led support that considers the individual animal’s emotional state, health, environment and opportunities to express natural behaviour.

Professional boundaries

I am not currently advertising as an accredited Clinical Animal Behaviourist. I work within my competence and may recommend veterinary assessment or referral when a case is complex, high-risk or outside my scope.

  • Reward-based and welfare-led practice
  • Fully insured
  • No use of pain, fear or intimidation
  • Clear referral where specialist input is needed
  • Individual plans rather than one-size-fits-all advice

Frequently asked questions

Before you book

What training methods do you use?

I use reward-based, welfare-led approaches and do not use methods intended to cause pain, fear or intimidation.

Do you work with aggressive dogs?

Significant aggression, bites, attempted bites or escalating risk may require veterinary assessment and referral to an appropriately qualified clinical behaviour professional. The free suitability call helps determine the safest next step.

Do I need to see my vet first?

Veterinary input may be required when behaviour has changed suddenly, pain or illness could be involved, medication is relevant, or a case is complex or high-risk.

Can you guarantee a result?

No animal-training or behaviour outcome can be guaranteed. Progress depends on health, environment, previous learning, consistency and the participation of the people responsible for the animal.

What happens after I book?

You will receive a Google Calendar invitation. The information you submit is used to assess and administer your booking. I may contact you if more information is needed before confirming suitability. Following a paid session, you will receive clear recommendations and agreed next steps to practise at home.
